Photo Cubes

I stumbled along this really cool idea on how to display photos and recycle some old cd jewel cases you have lying around. This is such a fantastic idea! I'm totally using this idea in the future!

"I printed images on vellum paper so the cube gives off a gauzy glow when lit from the inside. Some of my readers told me they made different versions as gifts, personalizing them with photos from friends and family members’ trips. Once the telltale edges of the cases are covered in ribbon, no one is the wiser that this wasn’t picked up in some in-the-know boutique. But I’m such a dork that I'll take any chance to blurt out, Isn’t this cool? I made it from CD cases!"

Breathtaking designs...

I stumbled upon these two dresses on The bride's Guide yesterday and just had to share!!! I know I'm already married but that shouldn't stop me from giving praise to some amazing works of art!

It is made by Junko Yoshioka who is now one of my fave wedding dress designers! Just LOOK at all that bead work! OHH DROOL!

Isn't this one just DE-LISH?! I feel like i can go eat it up it looks soo amazing and light!

Oh, and if I was at the party, I'd totally want to steal those beautiful peonies so I can put them on my night stand! :)

Undone...

Waking up this morning I noticed it was time to really finish our room. We brought in a new comforter, new pillow case shams and finished moving some of the furniture around it is time to add the personal touches that make the room ours and be done with decorating it.

On my search for artwork the other day, I kept my eye out what we could do and last night I wondered if any photos we had would do if we blew them up.

Same photo just different editing on it:

What do you think? Do you like either or if you like one, which one, A or B? Don't worry, you won't hurt my feelings. Also any guesses where this photo was taken? :)

Things to do before APR 09 -- Final Update

3. Save 60% on our grocery bills (65.55% saved)
4. Do one craft project (made a bench)
5. Start saving money for buffet table (hmmm...next month)
6. Figure out how to work the new camera... this includes uploading photos (SUCCESS!)
7. Switch dressers with the hubby (he doesn't want to switch anymore. BOO!)
8. Go swimming twice at the gym (...)
9. Do boot camp ONCE (...)
10. Start shopping for wine fridge (next month)
11. Read a book (i bought one, does that count?)

Overall, I'm working out more but still not running like i used to. I feel next month's goal will have to target that more head on. I've been to busy to read. Sounds weird but seriously, on top of the book that is sitting on my night stand, I also have about 10 magazines untouched. I think the biggest success was saving money on groceries this month. Last night I sent the hubby to the store with 5 coupons, and he saved 93.77%. The checkout guy said "WOW, can you do my grocery shopping for me?" He got a kick out of that. Overall, I think we will continue to monitor this! :)

how did you do?

In love...

with my ice cream mixer that is.

This is my favorite dessert we made so far in with it, Pineapple Sherbet.

How to make:
1 can of Pineapple (use a blender or food processor to chop it up until it looks smooth)
1.25 cups of simple syrup (made before hand: 2 parts sugar [we use Splenda] 1 part water, bring to boil and once the sugar is dissolved completely, remove it from the heat, cool, then bottle it and throw it in the fridge four 4-6 hours to cool down)
1/2 lemon squeezed (this is to bring down the sweetness of it all).
And a spoonful of cherry juice.

YUMMY!!! :)
