You'd think by this point I'm sick of being pregnant. I actually like it, even at 9.5 months. Sure I have the worst back pain since I was a senior in high school and granted my 85 year old grandma could outwalk me right now but still, it's been good. (as I type this, KLM is hiccuping up a storm) One of the things I noticed since being home the last two weeks was my wardrobe and what I wear. You see, all I can stand wearing now are sleeveless tops. I don't even remember the last time I wore a tshirt. Just the idea of putting something on my arms is appalling to me right now. My addiction even raged into my postpartum clothing went I finally went out and bought some nursing tops. All tanks. Yes, it's the summer so maybe that's that prompted it. Still, you'd think at least one shirt would find it's way in there. I wonder now if I wasn't pregnant, would I still be wearing tanks day in/day out?
What are you go to clothes for the summer?

Cleaning out the closet...
Things are starting to fit tighter around the waistline and it was high time that I finally went shopping for some clothes that fit better. After spending oodles of my precious time at the mall, I came home with lots of clothes that I just couldn't wait to put in my closet. The problem was it was stuffed... STUFFED... with clothes that just don't fit at the moment. Shoes have been tossed all over the place and it was just all a mess. I decided it was time to clean it out, put my clothes I adore in storage bins and toss what just won't be worn again. After maneuvering everything, I have to admit I'm pretty happy with my results. In the end, I got rid of those nasty dry cleaner hangers, stored 2 BIG bins of clothes, and put aside 4 bags of clothes for Good Will.
My end result:

And my Good Will bags:

It was fantastic to finally put most of my heels on the shelves (my puppies seem to have a knack to find the most expensive ones and chew them up). Everything is just so organized and clean. I hate pulling things out of there now in fear it won't look as clean as it does now.
When was the last time you did a little cleanup in the wardrobe area?

Off the Rack and Into my Closet
Lately I've been buying some pieces to fit into my wardrobe. One thing I love about fall are the colors. I'm not talking about reds and browns, I'm talking deep purples and greys. With my first swing at using polyvore, here are some things I want to rip off the screen and toss into my closet!
Included are a few staples of mine: leather jacket, handbag, and killer heels! You know I love my heels. The taller the better I say!
Have you started to update your wardrobe yet and ifso, what is your favorite new thing?

it's all about illusions...
When shopping for any sort of clothes you gotta know what looks good on you. I like to believe models are aliens and so therefore they don't exist. So while those aliens can wear anything they want, we have to figure out how types of clothes can give us the illusion to bring out our inner model. For me, I lack a waist. I'm the essence of the stick figure, except instead of a stick, my mid section is more like a tree trunk. Even though my favorite outfit in the world is my hubby's sweatshirts with a pair of lounge shorts, I still drool over fashion mags and own TONS of dresses. When I do pull out a dress from the corner of the closet, I tend to also open up the belt drawer. Nothing like throwing a belt on to create an illusion of a waist! From my shower outfit:
...to even my wedding dress...

I had to find something to make it give the illusion. So now that I gave away my secret... what secrets do you have to help you look your best?

Finally...
I bought a pair of shoes for my best friend's wedding this summer. I've been religiously stocking DSW and Zappos and Steve Madden for the right shoe and that's when I finally saw these beauties:

Guess Women's Pilsner 2 Peep Toe Pump
# Leather upper
# Manmade sole
# Heel measures approximately 3 1/4"
I think the only downfall was they weren't my requisite 3 3/4" - 4" heel... but I can overlook it...
When I first glanced at them a month ago I knew I had to buy them, and when I went back, they did not exist. So after a month of scouring the web, I turned to old faithful aka Amazon and found them! Now I will wait patiently by the mailbox while my pretty little shoes come. While the hubby will look bewildered by another pair of heels coming into the house he'll understand it's part of the "uniform" I get wear for the wedding!

Dire need of help...
So I am throwing out the question to y'all and need as much help as possible:
What would you wear to a evening (semi formal) weddding reception? The Dress I wanted to get is no long available... :( aka I took too long to buy it and went shopping today but ended up walking with dresses for other engagments. :|
Background a bit, the bride is one of my best friends and though I'm not in the wedding I have about 10 million jobs a BM would have (long story...but pretty much it was have no one in the wedding or have 25 bridesmaids... she choose no one). Her colors are silver and white (obviously I can't go in that color scheme). Can I wear patterns? What types of fabrics should I lean towards?
HELP!!

The Dress...
One of my dear friends (also a BM) just had her shower yesterday. I felt soo honored to help her get ready for the shower and help out the MOH any way possible to make this day special for the bride.
Her shower was beautiful! I wish I could have taken photos but my camera was acting up a bit. Once I find a few from some others, I'll post.
In the meantime, I realized her wedding isn't that far away. She's already given me my To-Do list for the day of and so I realized I need a dress that is comfortable, elegant, and easy to run around in. In my search for dresses, I found this:

What do you think? Is it too much? Too little? Too old looking? Too lame? I need help... Can I get away with wearing this to a elegant (yet it isn't black tie optional) evening sit down dinner/dancing affair in an upscale hotel?
