Thanks to Shanbrite Designs Wedding Templates, I think I would have died of a slow DIY death! Her site had soo many great templates and ideas that I had to use a few of them. One of them was the water bottles for the OOT (Out of Town) bags.



End result...


Start to finish, the project took 45 minutes (printing --kinkos of course--, cutting labels, ripping off water bottle regular labels and then taping these on) to make 60 of them!

I read it through the grapevine...

I always made it a point to attempt to see my wedding through my guests eyes. What they saw, and how good of a time they had. So when we started discussing our Out of Town Bags (OOT bags) I knew I wanted to put a little fun newspaper-esque thing in there.

By the time we were done it was 8 pages long filled with information about the wedding, about us, random wedding facts and even crossword puzzles and other word games. (We used a MS Word template, simple as pie!) It was sent to Kinkos to printed and when we brought them home, we put them together and rolled it up and tied it up with some wine ribbon.





...And the finished result...




This was probably one of our most time consuming projects. But when we started them, it was an hour here or there. All in all, was it worth it for us to do this? I'd like to think so. It was really fun!

Stickers Galore

Awhile ago, Mrs. Bee over at Weddingbee blogged about Moo.com and how they offer stickers! Since they were 90 for 9.99 plus free shipping, I decided to go ahead and order them and use them to decorate the OOT bags. So we have to make about 30 bags, I figured, that's 6 stickers a piece.

I ordered one set of stickers with us on them and one set of stickers of grapes and barrels and of the chapel we'll be getting married in. Granted the photos of the grapes and barrels came from one of our trips to Napa but I figured no one would be the wiser! :)

They finally came and I couldn't help but place them on my OOT bags I found at Target!



They turned out soo cute. I can't wait till it gets closer and fill the bags up with goodies! Did you do anything special to spruce up your OOT bags?

Yet more packages came last night!

• We got our little Moo stickers for our OOT bags. I'll update later with what we are going to do with them.


• Vistaprint came in with our very own FREE married names and address stamp. My FI opened it up and was soo excited to see it.


• Maps came back from the printers looking amazing! I can't wait to show them off!

I've been waiting for all these little things to get down. I finished the Tears of Joy labels and just have to print them out. I also need to send a mock up of the wine labels to the printers and need to finish the reception cards. UGGGHHH... Oh, and print out the actual invitation too!

Thanks to the gals over at weddingbee, they gave me some great advice on how to print on Stardream paper.

I think I am finally getting excited about my invites now! HOORAY!

It isn't about me...

I don't think a wedding is about the bride at all. I think the only thing that is about the bride and groom are the vows. That being said, I think the wedding is about the family, the friends, united together for one night. This has been my mantra from day one, and because of that, I have always wanted to make this celebration as joyous and low maintenance as possible.

So how can I put our guests at ease at the reception? Emergency baskets in the restrooms to help aid any issues that might arise. It'll have the stereotypical personal hygiene stuff, but what about runs in the stockings? Or broken heels? What if a dancer gets a little to excited on a dance floor and rips something... I want our guests to be as comfortable as possible. Here are a few more ideas to add to the basket:

Baby wipes: To remove or reduce make-up stains on clothing. They also remove lint from clothing and dirt from shoes.

Blotting papers: For unexpected greasy moments.

Clear nail polish: For a torn stocking or loose button.

Hairspray: Also good for runs in stockings.

Masking tape or duct tape: For fallen hems.

Instant Krazy Glue To-Go: A quick fix for broken heels.

Mini sewing kit with safety pins: To temporarily mend fallen hems, broken straps, or small tears.

Pencil: The eraser can be used to secure post earrings.

Sharpie markers: To dab scuffed or scratched leather on shoes, purses, belts, etc.

Tide to Go stick: To attack stains in an instant.
