Can't stop looking

The gang over at The Bride's Guide really need to stop showing all the pretty new gowns. It's like one beautiful gown after another and I'm in seriously envy they get to see all of them first hand.

Breathtaking designs...

I stumbled upon these two dresses on The bride's Guide yesterday and just had to share!!! I know I'm already married but that shouldn't stop me from giving praise to some amazing works of art!

It is made by Junko Yoshioka who is now one of my fave wedding dress designers! Just LOOK at all that bead work! OHH DROOL!

Isn't this one just DE-LISH?! I feel like i can go eat it up it looks soo amazing and light!

Oh, and if I was at the party, I'd totally want to steal those beautiful peonies so I can put them on my night stand! :)

That's amore...

I can't wait to tell you about how good of a time and how beautiful that wedding we went to last weekend. Being around all my friends really had a good affect on me and I feel more like my old self than that lesser version I've been in the last month.

Onto the show....

A greek wedding...

One of my close friends got married a few months ago and I've been salivating at the photos from the VERY talented and super nice Mark Ayoub. I really could go on and on about all the details and how I LOVE Mark's work but I think the photos will speak volumes.

The Ceremony

The Reception

Funny little note, the couple's first names are the same and their last name starts with a D too, so when it came to deciding on a monogram, they only had to use one letter! :)

I think this is one of my favorite photos of the happy couple, they looks soo in love!!!

...and this below photo is of me and the Matron of Honor!

If you want to see more of Mark's work, please visit his site and his blog! He's located in Southern California so if you don't have a photog booked yet, definitely check him out!

it's all about illusions...

When shopping for any sort of clothes you gotta know what looks good on you. I like to believe models are aliens and so therefore they don't exist. So while those aliens can wear anything they want, we have to figure out how types of clothes can give us the illusion to bring out our inner model. For me, I lack a waist. I'm the essence of the stick figure, except instead of a stick, my mid section is more like a tree trunk. Even though my favorite outfit in the world is my hubby's sweatshirts with a pair of lounge shorts, I still drool over fashion mags and own TONS of dresses. When I do pull out a dress from the corner of the closet, I tend to also open up the belt drawer. Nothing like throwing a belt on to create an illusion of a waist! From my shower outfit:

...to even my wedding dress...

I had to find something to make it give the illusion. So now that I gave away my secret... what secrets do you have to help you look your best?

Wait, you wanna make it white again?

I finally made an appointment to get my dress preserved. I wasn't going to do this but with only a 40$ difference in price (from just getting it cleaned) and the hubby saying just to do it, I gave in. I called my favorite person I dealt with throughout the entire wedding process: Reene from In Stitches. She'll take care of sending it in for me! Hooray!!!

Oopa!

Just barely getting up, I couldn't wait to post some photos from the wedding. Before I post everything I wanted to give you a glimpse of some little things. Everything last night was amazing. From the ceremony (I think I'm fluent in greek now!) to the reception to the bride and groom were absolutely stunning. The bride did a fantastic job making everything look elegant and grand without losing her roots, they had a greek dessert display that the bride's mom spend weeks making and let me tell you it was the BEST dessert spread I ever saw and tasted! So, without further ado, the sneak peak... and a photo of the hubby and me!

Can I say I loved my dress!!!

More definitely to come!!!

Celebrity Weddings...

Some Exclusive Photos From Katharine McPhee's Wedding
From the kiss to the cake, go inside the singer's [Katharine McPhee's] Feb. 2 nuptials to producer Nick Cokas:

McPhee and Cokas light up the room – literally – during a special candle-lighting ceremony.
After walking down an aisle flecked with pink and ivory rose petals – to the sounds of bagpipe music – McPhee and Cokas united at the altar to make it official. "I was so emotional," McPhee says. "And moved by the whole thing."

Surrounded by family and friends – including fellow Idol alum Kellie Pickler (right) – McPhee finds herself in gorgeous company. "I was so honored when Katharine asked me to be a bridesmaid," Pickler said. "[The wedding] was like a fairy tale. I didn't want it to end."

The reception – held at St. Viviana's – was designed with a "shabby chic" theme, wedding planner Denise De Quevedo tells PEOPLE. Meanwhile, tables were set with rose and peony centerpieces.

They may have dug into the four-tiered wedding cake (with buttercream frosting), but McPhee says the two "barely" ate dessert. But that didn't stop the two from celebrating. "We're a perfect fit," Cokas tells PEOPLE.

New Season New Styles...

One of the BIGGEST styles (I don't want to call it a trend because I LOVE IT SO MUCH I WANT IT TO STAY FOREVER) are feathers. Feathers in your hair, feathers on the dress, feathers in the bouquets... just FEATHERS. IT gives just a soft and high end look to everything it is in.
