Spanish Weddding Traditions

Before a couple getting married in Spain exchange their vows in church, the groom gives his bride a wedding present of thirteen coins. This gift is a symbol of his commitment to support her. The bride-to-be then carries these coins, in a little bag, to her wedding ceremony.

Looking at traditions and thinking of ways to incorporate them throughout the day and sharing them with our guests, I came up with a great favor idea. Using black velor bags from papermart and filling them up with gold coins and adding a tag that explains the tradition.

If you want to get even more involved in it, you can order custom coins here.
